Nutritionist, TV personality, cook and Masterchef 2015 grand finalist – for Georgia Barnes food has always been an integral part of her life.
“I’ve always loved to cook – there’s no moment where it began, it’s engrained in me. Preparing food for people is my happy place, where I feel at home, where I’m immersed in the creative and colourful world of cooking.”
From an early age, Georgia was curious about produce – how things grew, where they came from, what they tasted like and importantly when they were seasonally at their best. She had a fascination for good produce.
This planted the seed for Georgia to complete a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition, which began her career in the natural health industry as a Nutritionist. Food became about both work and play, learning the health benefits of unprocessed and whole foods, discovering new ingredients and utilising her home-cooking skills to develop recipes that were allergy and intolerance friendly. This was a turning point where Georgia’s food became more interesting and inventive.

Since appearing on MasterChef 2015, Georgia has not looked back and her passion for cooking is stronger than ever. Georgia’s compassionate nature and nurturing persona is what makes her style of cooking and her approach to food so unique.
Having recently joined the Taste team, Georgia will be sharing her recipes and unique cooking style with readers of the popular magazine with her monthly column. Television viewers will see her appear alongside Ben Milbourne in the new season of Ben’s Menu airing on the Ten Network. In the coming months, she will be travelling the country presenting her skills and love of quality produce at a number of food and wine events.
As the newest Ambassador for Endeavour College of Natural Health, Georgia will also spend time with potential students and holistic health enthusiasts sharing her inspirational journey from nutritionist to TV personality and how she hopes to make a difference.

Georgia’s food philosophy is pretty simple – choose quality produce, be intuitive and add a lot of love, and your food will always be delicious.
